In 1994, former Salisbury University student Marcus Scott Budnick collected folk material. A native of Havre de Grace in Harford County, Md., which is considered "The Decoy Capital of the World", the student based his project the folkloric aspect of decoy carving. Decoy carving is a tradition passed down through generation in his family.
